Franco Cachia attends 4th UEFA Course for FIFA Futsal Referees

Maltese Futsal International Referee, Franco Cachia, attended the 4th UEFA Course for FIFA Futsal Referees which was held between 2nd and 4th November 2009 at the FIGC Settore Tecnico, Coverciano-Florence (Italy).
After the Opening Ceremony by Angel Maria Villar Llona, Chairman UEFA Referee Committee, the programme started with a lecture on Dealing with Red and Yellow Cards by Pedro Galán Nieto and Andrea Lastrucci; in the afternoon, Fitness Test Instructions were given by the physical fitness expert Werner Helsen.
The FIFA Fitness test was held the following morning. Lectures on Reading of the Game and Positioning and Movement were given that same afternoon by Pedro Galán Nieto and Andrea Lastrucci, followed by Groupwork and Fitness Test Results. 
The last day of the course started with a talk on The Development of Futsal Refereeing in Asian Football Confederation by Zak Matzusaki, FIFA Futsal Instructor. This was followed by Feedback From Groups, and UEFA Referee Match Reports and Football Administration and Management Environment (FAME) by Luzia Porret, UEFA Refereeing Services.
The Closure of Course and Conclusions were carried out by Sergey Zue from the UEFA Referee Committee, and Pedro Galán Nieto and Andrea Lastrucci.
The referees present for the course agreed that the course had been highly instructive. In particular, they appreciated the DVD analysis, which involved TV images of certain situations.
