Three goals in five days for Bogdanovic

After scoring one in a 2-1 defeat to Scunthorpe on Tuesday, Malta international striker Daniel Bogdanovic was on target once again on Saturday as the Tykes ended their three-match losing streak with a fine 2-0 victory at Cardiff, courtesy of a Bogdanovic brace.

Cardiff defender Gabor Gyepes was found wanting on the ninth minute and he presented Bogdanovic with a clear run on goal before firing past the helpless Enckelman. Three minutes later, Bogdanovic capitalised on an even bigger space in the home defence to leave the home crowd stunned into silence.

Barnsley are now eleventh with 42 points from 32 matches.

Bogdanovic, who is expected to be named in the Malta squad for the friendly match against Finland on March 3, is the club’s top scorer this season with ten goals – seven in league matches and three in the Carling Cup.
