Victoria Hotspurs secured the eleventh title in the history of the club after notching a dramatic late equaliser in a decisive clash with Ghajnsielem in the Melita First Division in Gozo.

Before the game, the Hotspurs were lying three points ahead of the Blacks and therefore a draw was enough for the Victoria side. Ghajnsielem, on the other hand, needed a win to force a decider.

It was Thiago Dos Santos who put the Blacks ahead on 18 minutes and although they were reduced to ten men on 73 minutes after Brian Meilak was sent off, they seemed they were heading towards victory.

However three minutes from time, the Hotspurs levelled matters thanks to Uchenna Anyanwu to take the point they needed to secure the title.
