Maltese players abroad: Etienne Barbara on target

Maltese striker Etienne Barbara notched the equaliser for Carolina RailHawks in a 1-1 draw against Rochester Rhinos away from home in the USSF Division-2 Pro League on Saturday.

The RailHawks are currently third in the table.

In Hungary, Andre Schembri was named in the starting line-up as Ferencváros hosted rivals Újpest on Friday, losing 0-1. This was the fourth league appearance for the Maltese striker.

Goalkeeper Justin Haber is yet to make his first league appearance since returning with the club earlier this year.

Ferencváros are currently seventh in the table on 32 points from 25 matches.

In England, Daniel Bogdanovic is ruled out of Barnsley’s last League Championship game against West Brom as he is struggling with a hamstring strain.

The Malta striker is expected to decide on his future in the coming days or weeks after turning down a new contract. He ended the season as the club’s top scorer with 15 goals, helping the Robins to secure their status.

In Italy, Andrei Agius is playing regularly for AS Melfi in the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione Girone C. The team lies in a comfortable mid-table position.
