New national team kits by Givova unveiled

The new kits which the national team will be wearing as from next Thursday’s international friendly match against Germany at the Tivoli Stadion in Aachen were unveiled on Monday during a press conference at the Centenary Hall.

The Malta Football Association had earlier this year reached a sponsorship agreement with Italian sportswear company Givova and thanks to this sponsorship agreement, the company which is represented in Malta by Tuttosport, will be the technical sponsor of all national teams.

MFA president Dr Joe Mifsud said that this was the best technical sponsorship ever for the association as it will not only receive equipment but also cash.

In a message, which was read by Dr Mifsud, Giovanni Acanfora, who founded Givova just two years ago, said he was extremely proud and satisfied that the company is now the technical sponsor of the Malta Football Association. He said Givova has decided to link their brand to the Malta FA because they managed to find the right balance between the required investment and the commercial returns and image that the company would like to project.

This sponsorship arrives at the end of a successful year during which the sponsorship of Chievo, Salernitana and Modena have launched the Givova brand among the more established brands. With the first technical sponsorship of a national team, the brand would be established further.

Dr Mifsud thanked Dott. Giovanni Acanfora and Mimmo Vella on behalf of Tuttosport. He also thanked former MFA Marketing Manager Ivan Vella for his hard work in securing this sponsorship.

Givova is the technical sponsor of several football clubs in Italy and abroad, including Italian Serie A side Chievo and Italian Serie B sides Modena and Salernitana, besides several basketball, volleyball, futsal and beach soccer teams. Malta will however be the first national team to wear Givova.
