Under-21 side hosts Ukraine this afternoon

The Malta Under-21 side takes on Ukraine in a match from Group 8 of the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying round at the National Stadium this afternoon, kick-off at 18:00.

Malta is still seeking its first point in the group and even its first goal after suffering four 1-0 defeats and two 2-0 defeats in the six matches played so far. Edwin Camilleri’s side has already met Ukraine away from home, last year, losing 1-0.

The locals are coming from a unfortunate 1-0 defeat to Belgium in March. Two weeks ago, Malta shared the spoils in a goalless draw with Cyprus.

The game at Ta’ Qali will be controlled by Danish referee Lars Christoffersen.
