Finalists for Eurosport Replay Gala Night announced

The list of finalists for this Saturday’s Eurosport Replay Gala Night was announced today during a press conference at Eurosport outlet in Birkirkara. Four finalists in each category have been named.

Voting took place in the latter part of May when a panel of 12 leading football correspondents selected their top five players or coaches in the eight traditional categories. 50% of the votes were carried forward to the final adjudicating phase, where a panel of six leading football pundits chose the eight winners.

As for the prestigious Top Star and Young Star Player Awards, there was a huge response from players of all the Premier League teams. They were asked to name their top five players in both categories. All ten Premier League coaches also voted for their colleagues in the new Top Star Coach Award.

In other accolades, all the 10 First Division coaches were asked to cast their votes for The Best First Division Player this season. Their preferences carried 50% of the votes while the views of the four journalists covering this league made up the remaining votes. Also, the captains of the teams in the First Division Women’s League voted for their top player while a team of web-design experts have selected the Best Club Website.

A special award involving the sporting public is still ongoing. Fans and viewers of Replay are being urged to have their final say on who they think was the BOV Premier League top player this season. Voting through text messages on 506 170 91 will close on Saturday at noon. The winner will be announced later that night during the award ceremony.
