The ninth edition of the Melita Malta Football Awards was held on Wednesday at the Grand Hotel Excelsior – Floriana.

The winners in the various categories were:

Best Futsal First Division Player: Florin Anton (ZC Excess Futsal)
Best BOV Third Division Player: Malcolm Tirchett (Luqa St. Andrew’s)
Best BOV Second Division Player: Anatole Debono (St. Andrews)
Best BOV First Division Player: Martin Deanov (Marsaxlokk)
Best Women’s First Division Player: Sonia Farrugia (Sliema Raiders) and Joselene Gafa (Gozo)

Most Promising Youngster: Rowen Muscat (Birkirkara)
Best Goalkeeper: Anthony Curmi (Tarxien Rainbows)
Best Defender: Ramon Dos Santos (Qormi)
Best Midfielder: Shaun Bajada (Birkirkara)
Best Forward: Camilo Da Silva Sanvezzo (Qormi)
Best Coach: Paul Zammit (Birkirkara)
Special Award for Career: Freddie Mizzi
Special Awards: Andrei Agius and Daniel Bogdanovic
Special Award: Michael Mifsud
Best Veteran Player: Gilbert Agius (Valletta)
Best Goal of the Season: Njongo Priso (Valletta)

The gala event was presented by Sports Journalist and TV presenter Catherine Micallef along with former goalkeeper Saviour Darmanin.
