National team to resume preparation in mid-July

In view of Malta’s Euro 2012 Group F matches against Israel away and against Latvia at home on the 2nd and 7th September, and a preceding home friendly encounter against Macedonia scheduled for the 11th August, the national team players will resume training as from Monday 12th July. Sessions will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week, with morning work-outs on Monday and Wednesday, and morning and afternoon sessions on Tuesday.

On Sunday 25th July, the players will travel to Italy where they will stay until the following Sunday, 1st August, to intensify their preparatory phase before their match against Macedonia and eventually their competitive EURO 2012 commitments.

Coach John Buttigieg and his assistant Carmel Busuttil are aware of the importance of having their players’ fitness levels and proper technical preparation in optimal condition, especially after the brief summer recess.
