Dr Mifsud, Darmanin Demajo to run for top posts

Dr Joe Mifsud and Norman Darmanin Demajo will be running for the post of president of the Malta Football Association during the association’s Annual General Meeting which will be held on Saturday 7th August. Nominations had to be submitted by Monday.

Dr Mifsud held the post of president for the past eighteen years since being elected for the first time in 1992. He had earlier served as vice-president. On the other hand, Darmanin Demajo, who is the vice-president of St. Andrews, held the post of treasurer of the Malta Football Association for about six years.

There will be four candidates for the three posts of vice-presidents.

Besides current vice-presidents Carmelo Bartolo, Dr Peter Fenech and Ludovigo Micallef, running for the post is also current treasurer Alex Manfre.

Manfre is also running for the post of treasurer together with Antoine Portelli and Paul Bugeja. Bugeja is currently assistant treasurer.
