Croatia vs Malta postponed to November 17

UEFA has accepted a proposal by the Malta Football Association and the Croatian Football Federation to postpone the EURO 2012 Group F qualifier between Croatia and Malta from October 12 to November 17, 2010.

In this way, Malta will avoid playing two double-header fixtures away from home since Malta will be playing Georgia in Tbilisi on October 8. On the other hand, the postponement of this game will give the Croatian federation the possibility of celebrating in style the 20th anniversary of the first official match since independence.

Malta was due to host against Azerbaijan in a friendly match on November 17. This game is now expected to be played on another date.

The first game for the national team this season is a friendly match against FYR of Macedonia on August 11. Malta then plays Israel on September 2 in the first EURO 2012 qualifier. Five days later, Malta hosts Latvia.
