Renowned Italian scout visits Pietà Nursery

Volfango Patarca, a well-renowned scout in Italy who worked for the SS Lazio youth sector for twenty-four years and is now working in another football school with the brother of Alessandro Nesta visited Malta between the 26th and 29th August.

Over the past ten years, seventy-one players from Patarca’s youth program are playing for top-level Italian clubs and four were part of the Italian squad in the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

During his stay, he watched the Pietà Hotspurs Under-15 and the Under-17 sides in training sessions and friendly matches. He also met the Pietà Nursery coaching staff and shared his experiences with them.

Earlier this month another Pietà Hotspurs player Kyle Cesare was voted as the most promising player by the Youth Football Association. Last season, two players from the same nursery – Terence Agius and Clifford Gauci were voted Most Promising Youngsters for the Under-15 and Under-17 categories respectively.

Kyle Cesare, who has been registered with the Pietà Nursery since a very young age, was rewarded for the effort he showed throughout the season. This confirms the good work the nursery is doing for the benefit of all those who attend.

The Pietà Hotspurs Youth Nursery would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Kyle for winning this award, the Under-15 side for winning the championship and the Under-17 side for winning the knock-out competition.
