Mqabba and St. George’s registered wins in the first matches from Group 2 of the Maltco Lotteries First Division Knock-Out.

Brazilian striker Thiago dos Santos Mazitelli scored twice as Mqabba defeated Pietà Hotspurs 3-1. Claudio Calleja scored the other goal for Clive Mizzi’s side. Zack Muscat scored a consolation goal for the Hotspurs.

On the other hand, St. George’s defeated newly-promoted St. Andrews 2-0 thanks to a brace by Anthony Bonello.
