Sliema aim at extending positive run

Sliema Wanderers will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run to five matches as they take on Tarxien Rainbows in one of the two matches at the Hibernians Stadium on Sunday.

After losing to Birkirkara in their first outing, the Wanderers collected eight points – two wins over Hamrun and Vittoriosa and draws with Marsaxlokk and Qormi. With a win over the Rainbows, they would join Valletta on top the BOV Premier League table. The Citizens would however have a game in hand.

The Rainbows are currently second from bottom on four points and are coming from two successive defeats to Qormi and Valletta. They are eager to return to winning ways to climb out of the lower part of the table.

Brazilian defender Everton is in doubt for Tarxien after leaving the pitch injured during the last game. Alex Muscat, Clayton Failla and Steve Bezzina are all injured but Beppe Muscat will be back after serving a one-match ban.

In the second match, Hibernians aim at returning to victory as they host Vittoriosa Stars. The Paolites collected just five points from the first five matches and have now gone four matches without a win.

Vittoriosa, on the other hand, collected their first point in a draw with Floriana last week and now target a second successive positive result.

Hibernians duo Adrian Pulis and Zoran Levnaic are suspended. Edison Luis Dos Santos could be back for the Stars after missing the last two games.
