Hamrun, Floriana seek fourth win

Hamrun Spartans and Floriana, who currently share the second place, will be aiming at keeping the pace with leaders Valletta as they take on Marsaxlokk and Tarxien Rainbows respectively on Saturday.

Following a dramatic 1-0 win over Qormi in their last outing, Floriana will be aiming for a third win in four matches as they take on Tarxien Rainbows. A win which would put the Greens four points behind Valletta.

The Rainbows returned to winning ways last Sunday as they defeated Sliema Wanderers 2-1 and now will be all out to claim another three points which would put them on level points with the Greens.

In the second match, Marsaxlokk face Hamrun Spartans.

The Southseasiders suffered their first defeat on Sunday as they lost 0-2 to leaders Valletta. A defeat which left Patrick Curmi’s side in fourth place. A win over the Spartans would put them five points behind the Citizens, moving in second or third place.

The Spartans, on the other hand, were held in a 1-1 draw with Birkirkara in their last outing following a 4-3 win over Hibernians. Hamrun will be all out for the three points as they cannot afford any result other than a win in order to keep the pace with the leaders.

Argentine striker Julio Alcorse is ruled out for Marsaxlokk after being handed a two-match ban.
