New initiative by Hamrun Spartans aimed at increasing interest in girls' football

As from this season, the Hamrun Spartans Nursery has formed a sub-committee to take care of the girls’ section in an effort to increase interest amongst girls towards football from a very young age.

This hard-working sub-committee is doing its utmost to strengthen the basis formed by the nursery in prior years. The sub-committee has appointed new qualified coaches to train the girls and their initiative is already bearing fruit as a good number of new young players have decided to register with the club.

A meeting will be held on 23 November 2010 at 6.00 pm at the Hamrun Nursery Centre at Alexander Street. The meeting is intended to inform parents about what is being organised and the developments in respect of girls’ football. The parents of the girls attending training are invited. Parents of girls (aged 4 years upwards) who are willing to give a try in football for the first time also very welcome to attend this meeting.
