Six Premier League players suspended

Six Premier League players were handed a one-match ban following last weekend’s matches. The worst-hit were Floriana and Valletta who both had two players suspended.

Ramon Dos Santos and Jamie Pace are ruled out of Valletta’s game against Hamrun Spartans on Wednesday. Floriana’s Christian Caruana and Joseph Borg are ruled out of the game against Hibernians on Saturday. Tarxien defender Justin Grioli will be missing the game against Marsaxlokk on Saturday while Leighton Grech will be unavailable for Vittoriosa in Monday’s game against Valletta.

In Division 1, Sheldon Grech (Pietà) was banned for one match while Dingli coach Robert Magro was suspended for two matches.

Zebbug Rangers duo Haruna Doda and Martin Pace were both banned for two matches while another Zebbug player Bjorn Chetcuti was suspended for one match together with Zejtun’s Jesmar Abela.

In Division 3, Kevin Tonna (Kalkara) was handed a two-match ban while Marco Sultana (Attard), Joseph Xerri (Gozo), Nicholas Gatt (Kalkara), Kirsten Brincat (Marsa), Hammoud Hussam Rakban (Mtarfa) and Mario Bajada (Siggiewi) were suspended for one match. Mtarfa official Paul Farrugia was banned for two matches.

Glenn Fenech (St. Andrews) was banned for four matches in the Youth league and was removed from team captain until the end of the season. Warren Scicluna (Dingli), Luke Micallef (Lija), Jonathan Bilocca (Naxxar) and Jon Paul Calleja (St. Andrews) were all suspended for one match.
