Futsal: Narrow defeat for national team against Switzerland

After losing heavily to Belgium in the first game on Friday, the Malta Futsal national team lost 4-3 to Switzerland in the second match of the Futsal Friendly International Tournament at the Sporthalle Wankdorf in Bern, Switzerland on Saturday.

Jonathan Magri Overend put Malta ahead on the 9th minute but the hosts turned the score in their favour with goals by Yves Mezger (14′), Daniel Agatic (17′ and 22′) and Patrick Zennhausern (23′). Carlos Scicluna and Paul Bugeja scored for Malta on the 30th and on the 31st respectively.

On Friday, Malta lost 0-13 to Belgium. At the end of the first half, the Belgians were leading 6-0. The scorers were Valentin Dujacquier (2), Aziz Hitou (3), Mohamed Dahbi Reda (2), Abdullah Kerouach, Abdou Dendane, Ahmed Sababti, Amar Zouggaghi, Andre De Oliveira and Petros Papanicolaou.
