New Physical Trainer at MFA Technical Centre

The Malta Football Association is proud to announce the recruitment of Mark Buttigieg as a Physical Trainer to assist Luca Pagani within the Technical Centre at Ta’ Qali.

The physical aspect of our athletes has been discussed over and over again and together with Luca Pagani, the Malta Football Association is giving it the rightful importance, which it deserves for the benefit of our footballers. As announced earlier, such upgrades are on going at the Technical Centre and this recruitment fits in perfectly with the Technical Centre’s current plans in this sector.

Mark Buttigieg was a regular player and captain of Gozo FC, where he won the Third, Second and First Division League championships and promotions and also played in the MFA Premier League.

For the last five years, Buttigieg was the club coach of SK Victoria Wanderers in Gozo.

Between 1992 and 1997, he was active with the Maltese national volleyball team and represented his country in various international competitions including the Games for the Small States of Europe (GSSE). In volleyball, Mark won various Malta Volleyball Association honours both at club and at individual level, and was also twice recognised as Malta’s Volleyball Player of the Year. For several years, he practised Beach Volley and also played for Malta in a beach volley tournament in Rimini, Italy.
