Six Premier League players suspended

Six Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner on Wednesday.

Shaun Pierre Bajada (Birkirkara), Clyde Borg (Floriana), Peter Anizoba (Hamrun), Brian Fairbairn (Hibs), Justin Grioli and Manuel Caruana (Tarxien) will miss this weekend’s matches.

Bajada and Anizoba are ruled out Hamrun vs Birkirkara on Sunday. Clyde Borg, Justin Grioli and Manuel Caruana will be missing Floriana vs Tarxien on Saturday. Fairbairn will miss the game against Sliema on Monday.

Vittoriosa Stars coach Winston Muscat was handed a two-match ban.

In Division 1, Kurt Pace (Dingli), Vilson Caushi (Mqabba), Keith Darmanin (Lija) and Neil Curmi (Msida) were banned for one match while Pietà Hotspurs kit manager was suspended for two matches.

In Division 2, Mellieha duo Joseph Vella and Philip Taylor and Senglea’s Julian Spiteri were all banned for two matches.

Redeemer Tabone (Fgura) was banned for two matches in Division 3 while Benjamin Perry Acton (Gharghur), Matthew Axiaq (Ghaxaq) and Gordon Borg (Xghajra) were suspended for one match.

In the Youth League, Lydon Micallef (Balzan), Alexander Cauchi (Floriana), Greg Marney and Mark Anthony Borg (Floriana), Eman Borg (Lija), Michael Cachia (Melita), Mark Vassallo (Mgarr), Wayne Sciberras (Mosta), Leigh Spiteri and Lincoln Micallef (Msida), Justin Buhagiar (Siggiewi), Albert Scerri and Melchior Grech (Tarxien) and Chris Scerri (Xghajra) were banned for one match while Gianluca Vella (Mosta) was banned for two matches. Manuel Caruana (Marsaxlokk) was banned for one match in the Youth Knock-Out.
