New sponsorship for Sliema Wanderers

Tigne Point seems to have been the buzz word these past few months. Shopaholics can shop to their hearts’ content at The Point Shopping Mall, and sports fans found their safe haven at the Tigne Sports Complex. It has been ten years in the making, but thanks to an amalgamation of investments by the Goverment, and MIDI as a private investor, the Complex has recently been officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.

The complex accommodates a full-size football pitch, a fully equipped gym, conference room, dressing rooms, nursery quarters and indoor multi-purpose pitches that can house a number of sport disciplines. The complex also boasts a pool therapy and wellness area that will surely be a favourite haunt of fitness fans and sports men alike.

Not only are Sliema Wanderers FC proud to call this state-of-the-art complex home, but are also set to enjoy a whole year of sponsorship by MIDI. Steve Abela, Sliema Wanderers FC President and Ben Muscat, Chief Executive Officer at MIDI plc, as seen in the picture opposite, were present at the official opening of the Complex.

Steve Abela, the Sliema Wanderers President said “I believe this sponsorship comes naturally as our glorious club began operating in this sports complex. We welcome MIDI within our family for a further year after ten long years to build this proud complex and we augur many more to come from this partnership”

Ben Muscat commented “..these facilities have been coming for a number of years, probably longer than anyone anticipated but at the end of it SWFC surely have one of the best sporting complexes in Malta, not just for football but potentially for a number of other disciplines as well. MIDI plc is proud to be associated with such a Premier football club steeped with honours and proud traditions .We augur that these facilities will hopefully produce future generations of football stars and give an opportunity for the wider Sliema community to avail itself of the excellent facilities to be found at the MIDI plc SWFC Sport Complex at Tigne’ Point .”
