New sponsor for Qormi Youth Nursery

Qormi Youth Nursery unveiled a new sponsor during a press conference which was held on Saturday.

Nursery chairman Victor Camilleri said the objective is to make the nursery the breeding ground for the players of the future but also making it one of the leading nurseries on the island.

Camilleri spoke about the development of the nursery’s facilities and revealed that the tenth edition of the Tumas Fenech Memorial which will be held in May will include foreign participation.

The Qormi nursery chairman appealed for more support in order to be able to invest in the nursery. He thanked the Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport, Good Causes Fund, the MFA and sponsors – Tropicana Juices (Quintano Foods) and the Fenech family.

Qormi FC vice-president Matthew Fenech announced a two-month pilot project consisting of the setting-up of a football academy. He also mentioned the possibility of a twinning with a foreign club.

Nursery Head Coach Edward Micallef said that 230 children, aged 4 to 15 are attending the nursery under the guidance of eighteen qualified coaches. The nursery also plans to create a school for goalkeepers.
