Hefty ban for Naxxar player, officials

Naxxar Lions midfielder Andre Rocha Da Silva and club officials Dione Drago and Marvic Stivala were all handed hefty bans following the Quick-Keno Second & Third Division Knock-Out semi-final against Zejtun Corinthians which was played on Tuesday. The game was abandoned on 93 minutes with Zejtun leading 2-0 after referee Paul Apap was assaulted.

Marvic Stivala was suspended for five years, until April 28, 2016. Dione Drago was suspended for five months, until September 28, 2011. Brazilian midfielder Andre Rocha Da Silva was banned for eight months, until December 28, 2011.

The bans for Drago and Da Silva were extended by two months according to Rule 7(g).

Zejtun Corinthians striker Adrian Carabott was banned for one match and is therefore ruled out of the final against Rabat Ajax.

Meanwhile Tarxien Rainbows striker Cristiano Dos Santos Rodrigues was handed a one-match ban and is ruled out of Friday’s Premier League clash against Hamrun.

Michael Magro (Xghajra) was banned for one match in Division 3 while Adrian Abdilla (Mqabba), Chris Bilocca and Chris Scerri (Xghajra) were suspended for one match in the Youth League.
