Association to focus more on marketing

Marketing will be on top of the agenda for the Malta Football Association following the completion of more important projects. MFA President Norman Darmanin Demajo spoke in detail about these plans during a meeting of the Council which was held on Tuesday.

The advertising panels at the National Stadium will be replaced by more cost-effective LED panels while the scoreboard will be replaced by a 7m by 5m LED screen. The association concluded a deal with Milan-based TecnoVISION and works should be completed by July. An investment of this sort was required as now there is more flexibility in terms of advertising, especially during national team and domestic matches.

Darmanin Demajo also explained that the association plans to turn the Millennium Stand into a Corporate / Family Stand. For this reason, catering facilities will be set-up, namely a restaurant and/or sports bar.

The idea of creating a football museum complements this idea as it would attract more people to visit the stadium. The main car park in front of the Enclosure and the parking area underneath the Millennium Stand will offer ample parking space to patrons. It was also announced that a Traffic Management System has been approved by Transport Malta and the works should start in July 2011.
