Valletta, St. Andrews win National Lotteries Good Causes Fund Knock-Outs

The Youth Football Association’s 2010-11 season came to an end with the National Lotteries Good Causes Fund Under-15 and Under-17 Knock-Out Finals on Sunday evening in front of a good attendance, at the Luxol St. Andrew’s Stadium.

The Under-15 final was a very evenly contested affair between neighbours St. Andrews and Melita, which was decided on penalties (6-5), after the match finished 1-1. At the end, the Hon. Robert Arrigo, Parliamentary Assistant in the Ministry of Finance, the Economy and Investment, together with Youth FA Vice President Robert Attard, presented the trophies and medals to finalists Melita and winners St. Andrew’s.

In the Under-17 Final, Valletta emerged 2-1 winners against Pieta and completed a league and cup double. Youth FA President, Fr. Hilary Tagliaferro and Malta FA Vice-President Mr. Ludovico Micallef presented both sets of players with medals and trophies.

These finals concluded the Youth FA’s current season. Season 2011/12 will commence on the 23rd June with the Annual General Meeting.
