Valletta win 3-0 in San Marino

Valletta registered an emphatic 3-0 win away from home over Sammarinese champions SP Tre Fiori in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round at the Stadio Olimpico in Serravalle on Tuesday to move very close to securing a place in the second qualifying round.

It was Denni Rocha Dos Santos who put Valletta ahead two minutes from the end of the first half.

Five minutes in the second half, Denni was the provider as he sent Alfred Effiong through and the Nigerian striker slotted past Bertozzi.

William Barbosa Da Silva could have added another goal on 65 minutes but hit incredibly wide from close range when served by Denni from the right.

But five minutes later, substitute Gilbert Agius was brought down inside the area by Andreini and from the penalty spot, Agius made no mistake to make it 3-0.

The second leg will be played at the Hibernians Stadium on Wednesday 6th July, kick-off at 19:00. The winner of this two-legged clash will be meeting FK Ekranas of Lithuania in the second qualifying round.
