Melita FC, Naxxar Lions FC, Lija Athletic FC, Gharghur FC, San Gwann FC and St. George’s FC, will be participating in the first edition of the MELITA FC POWERADE SUMMER CUP which starts on Wednesday 17th August at Melita FC training grounds, Pembroke.
A number of First and Second Division teams will have the opportunity to test their pre-season preparations when they play against each other in a “league” style tournament over two weeks.
Two matches will be played every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with the first match commencing at 7.30 pm and the subsequent game played at 9.30 pm. The last game will be played on Sunday 2nd September 2011.
Melita FC president Mr Paul Zammit said that “Melita FC are delighted to have teamed up with Powerade to launch this first edition of the MELITA FC POWERADE SUMMER CUP”.
“This pre-season tournament will be a showcase for a number of teams and would be an ideal run-up prior to the season commencing.”
Mr Zammit also took the opportunity to thank the main sponsors Powerade for their continuous support and also the other teams who have accepted the invitation to take part.
