Instructional meeting for Sliema Nursery coaching staff

UK-based Maltese Senior Football Development Officer Conducts an Instructional Meeting for the Sliema Wanderers Youth Football Nursery Coaches.

The Sliema Wanderers Youth Nursery held another meeting for the Nursery coaches, to keep abreast with today’s new development in the game. It is a priority of the committee to give the best possible football education to all the nursery boys and girls.

For this reason the pre-season Instructional Meeting was conducted by Ms. Marion Hayton – Senior Football Development Officer and Tutor for Leicestershire & Rutland FA in England. Ms. Hayton is Maltese and was of great assistance to the Sliema Nursery during their recent visit to Leicestershire with the Under 12 team.

She shared theory and practical sessions with the club’s Coaching staff on ‘Dealing with young players using the Four Corner Model’. This topic led to an interesting discussion about the latest developments and changes being proposed in The Football Association’s handling of grassroots football and the long term elite player development.

All coaches fully participated in both the theory and practical sessions with great enthusiasm and acknowledged Ms. Hayton’s experience and infectious love and passion for the game.

On behalf of all the committee members, Coaches and footballers, Head coaches Claude Chetcuti and Martin Sacco thanked Ms. Hayton for the interesting topics covered. On her part, Ms. Hayton promised to keep following the progress and developments of the Sliema Nursery with further visits to the club sharing her passion and abilities with both the footballers and the coaching team.

Boys and Girls wishing to join the Sliema Nursery are invited to email there details on swfcnursery@gmail.com, or visit the nursery in Tigne Mondays to Fridays evenings.
