Champions target second win

Champions Valletta will be aiming at their second win on Friday as they take on Hamrun Spartans in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium.

The Citizens defeated Tarxien Rainbows 4-2 last week and are keen to collect another three points to extend their unbeaten record in the BOV Premier League to thirty-five matches.

However Hamrun are also looking forward to obtain another positive result after defeating Balzan Youths 3-1 on Sunday. A win which however is still in balance after Balzan Youths filed a protest over the ineligibilty of a player.

The Spartans could have Swiss midfielder Carlo Polli making his debut but Lee James Agius is suspended after being handed a one-match ban.

Meanwhile in the first match, Hibernians face Marsaxlokk.

The Paolites shared the spoils in an entertaining 3-3 draw with Sliema Wanderers in their first outing and will now target a first win as they face the Southseasiders.

Marsaxlokk, on the other hand, aim at obtaining their second win after defeating Mosta 5-2 on Saturday.
