Balzan Youths win protest

Balzan Youths were awarded a 2-0 win by the MFA Protests Board following a protest they had filed over Hamrun Spartans player Daniel Zerafa in the BOV Premier League match which was played on August 21. The Spartans had won the game 3-1.

The Youths claimed that Zerafa, who was included as a substitute on the 90th minute when he replaced Anderson Mendes Ribeiro, was ineligible as he was suspended after the final game of the Youth League last season.

Balzan therefore collect their first three points and move joint-sixth. The Spartans, on the other hand, now lie at the bottom of the table without any points.
