Mellieha SC won the third edition of the Mellieha Challenge Cup after beating Gzira Utd in a hard fought match between the two Second Division clubs.

The goal came midway through the first half from a penalty, scored by Phil Taylor.

After the game, the teams were presented with trophies by Local Mayor Robert Cutajar and Councillor Joe Azzopardi whilst club president Alfred Vella Borg presented the Challenge Cup.
