Fgura Tournament comes to an end

The third and final day of the Fgura Tournament saw the hosts emerging victorious in the final and decisive match.

Fgura United won 2-1 against Second Division side Luqa SA. Riccardo Severino Concalves opened the score in the eleventh minute after some neat work by Lydon Vella on the right flank. On the hour mark, Simon Aquilina dived to head in from close range a Michael Zammit headed service. Luqa reduced the arrears 7 minutes later through Lee Baldacchino.

On the other hand, Marsa opened the proceedings when beating Msida SJ 3-1, the latter fielding their Under 19 team. Msida took the lead late in the first half thanks to a Jurgen Buhagiar goal but Marsa managed to overturn the scoreline with three second period goals through Yusif Adullah, and a brace by Philip Chircop the first from the penalty spot.

Final standings: Fgura United 7 points, Marsa 4 points, Luqa SA 4 points and Msida SJ 3 points
