Birkirkara, Floriana hope to bounce back from defeats

Birkirkara and Floriana will be hoping back from defeats on Friday as they take on Mqabba and Hamrun Spartans respectively.

In the first match, Birkirkara take on Mqabba.

The Stripes were a disappointing lot last Friday as they lost 0-3 to Hibernians – their first defeat after beating Qormi and Mosta in their first two outings.

Mqabba, on the other hand, are on a high after managing to beat Marsaxlokk 2-0 despite having to play for fifty minutes in ten men following the sending-off of Thiago dos Santos Mazzitelli who is therefore ruled out of Friday’s clash.

Andrew Decesare will be back after serving a one-match ban but Rowen Muscat and Shaun Bajada are ruled out injured.

In the second game, Hamrun Spartans take on Floriana.

The Greens suffered their first defeat on Sunday as they lost 0-1 to Sliema. A game in which they lost goalkeeper William Amamoo who was sent off early in the second half. Amamoo will be serving a one-match ban while Christian Caruana is still ruled out through injury.

The Spartans collected their first point in a draw with Tarxien on Sunday. Defender Roderick Fenech will be unavailable as is ruled out injured.
