Hibs, Sliema hope to extend unbeaten run

Hibernians and Sliema Wanderers will be hoping to register wins on Saturday as they take on Balzan Youths and Marsaxlokk respectively in order to extend their unbeaten run in the BOV Premier League and take the top spot as leaders Valletta will only be in action on Sunday. The two matches will be played at the Hibernians Stadium, kick-off at 17:00 and 19:00 respectively.

In the first match, Hibernians host Balzan Youths. The Paolites drew 3-3 with Sliema in their first outing but then earned six points from the next two matches beating Marsaxlokk 2-1 and Birkirkara 3-0.

On the other hand, Balzan Youths earned their fourth point as a late goal gave them a point in a 1-1 draw wiht Mosta.

Marcelo Dias is in doubt for the Paolites after leaving the pitch injured during the last game. Pedro Dos Santos and Bledjon Guga will be back for Balzan after missing the last game.

Meanwhile in the second game, Sliema Wanderers take on Marsaxlokk.

The Blues registered a second successive win on Sunday as they beat Floriana 1-0 last week. Marsaxlokk, on the other hand, suffered a second defeat as they lost 0-2 to Mqabba.

Jean Paul Farrugia is in doubt for Marsaxlokk after sustaining an injury in their last game. He would join Clive Brincat and Trevor Templeman who are both suspended. For Sliema, Ryan Grech serves a one-match ban.
