The BOV Third Division League got underway on Sunday with seven matches played at three different venues – Centenary Stadium, Charles Abela Stadium and Luxol Stadium.

At the Luxol Stadium, Mgarr United, who were relegated from Division 2 last season, defeated Sirens 3-2

Xghajra Tornados, on the other hand, defeated Marsaskala 5-1.

At the Centenary Stadium, Pembroke Athleta opened their commitments with a 4-2 win over Mtarfa. Ghaxaq and Santa Lucia shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw while Qrendi and Marsa earned a point in a goalless draw.

At the Charles Abela Stadium, Fgura United were held in a 2-2 draw by Swieqi United. Mdina Knights beat Kalkara 4-1.
