Rainbows, Mosta target first win

Tarxien Rainbows and newly-promoted will be hoping to register their first win on Saturday as they cross swords in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Hibernians Stadium.

Both sides lost three of the four matches played so far. Three defeats which led Tarxien coach Noel Coleiro to hand his resignation although he seems to have been convinced to stay.

Tarxien in fact lost to Valletta, Floriana and Qormi, collecting their only point in a draw with Hamrun. Mosta, on the other hand, were defeated by Marsaxlokk, Birkirkara and Valletta, holding Balzan in a 1-1 draw.

In the second match, both Birkirkara and Sliema Wanderers both aim to return to winning ways after dropping points draws in their last outing.

After losing to Hibernians, the Stripes were held in a draw by Mqabba. Sliema, on the other hand, dropped another two points in a draw with Marsaxlokk.

Danial Mitev is ruled out through suspension for Danilo Doncic’s side, joining the injured Cleavon Frendo and Timothy Thomas on the sidelines. Rowen Muscat could be back for Birkirkara after recovering from an injury while Nigerian striker Shola Shodiya should be available for selection for the first time.
