B'Kara, Qormi target wins

Birkirkara and Qormi seek precious points on Saturday as they take on Hamrun Spartans and Marsxlokk respectively in the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium.

In the first match, Qormi hope to return to winning ways as they take on Marsaxlokk. After sharing the spoils in a draw with Floriana, the Yellow Blacks lost 0-1 to Mqabba on Monday and are therefore keen to claim the three points against a team which registered its first win in two months as they beat Tarxien Rainbows.

A win for Marsaxlokk would put them on level points with the same Qormi, Mqabba and Birkirkara, who will be in action in the second game.

Birkirkara take on Hamrun Spartans, hoping to collect the three points which would put them in fourth place following Sliema’s defeat to Mosta on Friday.

The Stripes lost 1-2 to Valletta last week while Hamrun registered a second successive win, beating Sliema Wanderers 4-2.

Angus Buhagiar should be back for Birkirkara after missing the last game. Massimo Grima and Gianluca Calabretta are ruled out for Hamrun as they serve a one-match ban.
