Valletta seek maximum points against troubled Southseasiders

Champions Valletta will be hoping to extend their positive run on Sunday as they take on Marsaxlokk in the only match in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday. The Citizens are currently second on 25 points, two behind leaders Hibernians, but have a game in hand.

The champions struggled more than expected to beat ten-man Balzan Youths last week and against Marsaxlokk, they will be all out to register a comfortable win.

The situation at Marsaxlokk is still unclear as they are yet to appoint a new coach following the resignation of Winston Muscat. The club released Florent Raimy and Carlos Campagnoli and a number of players are eyeing a move elsewhere.

However despite the current situation, the Southseasiders managed to collect three points in a 5-3 win over Hamrun Spartans last week. They are however second from bottom on ten points.
