Steve D'Amato appointed Mosta F.C. coach

Steve D’Amato has been appointed as the new coach of Mosta F.C. He signs an eighteen-month deal.

D’Amato replaces Oliver Spiteri who has been at the helm of the Blues for the past two and a half years, leading them to promotion at the end of last season and whose contract was terminated by mutual consent on Wednesday.

Steve D’Amato has been coaching at senior level for the past ten years, starting at Melita with whom he managed to secure a promotion and won the Second & Third Division Knock-Out.

He joined Hamrun in October 2008. With the Spartans, he reached the semi-finals of the U*BET FA Trophy in season 2009/10 and secured a place in the Championship Pool at the end of last season.

This summer, he joined Qormi FC as technical advisor.

Mosta lie at the bottom of the table with five points from eleven matches – a win and two draws.

Assistant Coach Ramon Zammit had been offered the post as first team coach till the end of the season but declined as he felt loyalty to Spiteri. Zammit and Goalkeepers coach Clyde Vella handed their resignation.
