Youth FA to participate in Gowl g?all-Istrina 2011

The Youth Football Association will be taking part in this year’s edition of Gowl g?all-Istrina. The nurseries’ involvement was explained during a meeting for nurseries.

Vice President Robert Attard explained that this year’s event is a double celebration as besides helping those in need, young players from nurseries will be part of the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the National Stadium.

?or? Micallef, one of the organisers of event, spoke about the various activities being held and urged nurseries to participate. He expressed his wish that each nursery will be represented in the event.

Youth FA General Secretary Joe Micallef explained that the organising committee, chaired by Alex Manfre and made up of representatives of the MFA, YFA, Net TV’s Replay and One TV’s L-Argument, are working hard to make this event a success and collect more funds for l-Istrina.

Joe Micallef stressed that besides attending to express solidarity, nurseries had some duties, including that of providing mascots with each player taking part in the triangular tournament and ball-boys. He appealed that players from all age groups within nurseries will all get the opportunity to spend some time with some of the best local players who played at the National Stadium over the past thirty years and together with coaches and administrators watch the tournament.

The President of the Republic, Dr. George Abela will be attending part of the event which will start at 16:15.
