Foreign teams to take part in St. Andrew's International Football Tournament

Scottish Football Academy Raith Rovers and Sicilians Scuola Calcio Agrigento, last season’s winners, will be arriving Malta this Tuesday and Wednesday respectively to participate once again in the second edition St. Andrew’s International Football Tournament. They will both be participating in the 1998 Category.

Along with these two foreign Academies, 43 local teams from 11 Nurseries will be participating in 7 categories in this edition which will be dedicated to children born after January 2004, 2003, 2002, 2000, 1999, 1998 and 1996 coming from the Nurseries of: B’Kara, Hamrun Spartans, Lija/Iklin, Melita, Paola Hibernians, Pieta’ Hotspurs, Qormi, San Gwann, Sliema W, Valletta and St Andrew’s.

The Tournament message for this Edition is: Values First…….Goals Follow.

The 2000, 1999, 1998 and 1996 category matches will be controlled by MFA referees and all matches will be played according to the new Youth and Grassroots Rules and Regulations.

Parents and Spectators are welcome to attend at the Luxol Stadium during this Christmas Week and watch this Football Youth Spectacle.

The Tournament kicks off on Monday 26th December 2011 at 09:00Hrs where following a march pass from Luxol Stadium Parking Area to the pitch, the first matches start at 09:30Hrs with the 2004, 2003 and 2000 Categories. The program continues every day with the other Categories, up to Friday 30th with intensive non-stop football. Friday evening we will assist the two Finals of 1996 and 1998 categories respectively followed with the presentation of awards.
