Ten Premier League players suspended

Ten Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner after the weekend’s BOV Premier League matches.

Jonathan Francica and Pedro dos Santos Calcado (Balzan), Thomas Paris (Floriana), Clayton Failla (Hibs), Modesto Valeriani (Marsaxlokk), Adrian Borg and Ian Zammit (Mosta), Branislav Timotic (Mqabba), Clifford Gatt Baldacchino and Josef Mifsud (Sliema) are therefore ruled out of the weekend’s matches.

Gatt Baldacchino and Mifsud will be missing Sliema’s game against Hamrun on Friday while Timotic is ruled out of the match Mqabba vs Qormi, also on Friday. Francica, Calcado and Paris are ruled out of Balzan vs Qormi while Failla, Borg and Zammit will be missing Hibernians vs Mosta. Valeriani will be missing the game against Tarxien on Sunday.

Marsaxlokk kit-manager Anthony Sciberras was banned for two matches.

Gabriel Martin (Birzebbuga), Cleaven Cassar (Pieta) and Gary Inguanez (St. George’s) were suspended for one match in Division 1 while Albert Busuttil (Kirkop) and Matthew Genuis (Zurrieq) were banned for one match in Division 2.

Mark Vassallo (Ghaxaq), Juan Galdes (Marsaskala), Jonathan Ebejer (Mgarr), Edson Falzon (Mtarfa), Michael Farrugia (Qrendi), Clayton Goodrum (Santa Lucia) and Timothy Hampton (Swieqi) were suspended for one match in Division 3.

In the Youth League, Luca Borg (Mtarfa) and Luke Bugeja (Zurrieq) were banned for two matches while
Ryan Magri (Zebbug) was suspended for one match.
