Terence Scerri fined €1,000

Valletta striker Terence Scerri was conditionally discharged for three years and fined €1,000 after the Court convicted him of incitement and violating public order at the end of the U*BET FA Trophy final between Valletta and Floriana.

In May, Scerri was banned from entering any football ground for a period of one year.

The player was charged with trying to seriously injure Floriana midfielder Christian Cassar, slightly injuring him, inciting a number of persons to commit an offence and of abusive behaviour and for relapsing.

The Court now pointed out that Christian Cassar had withdrawn his criminal complaint against Scerri and forgiven him.

Meanwhile Terence Scerri was originally handed a one-year ban by the MFA but this was then reduced to eight matches. He was banned for a further five matches for a total of thirteen matches.
