Under-21 side loses 1-3 to Hungary

The Malta Under-21 side lost 1-3 to Hungary in a friendly match at the Hibernians Stadium on Wednesday.

The team led by Ray ‘Zazu’ Farrugia took an early lead but by the end of the first half, the visitors managed to turn the score in their favour, increasing the lead late in the game.

Malta managed to take the lead after just two minutes when off a cross by Steve Pisani, Yessous Camilleri placed the ball at the back of the net.

The visitors levelled matters on 27 minutes thanks to a Marko Futacs effort when served by Adam Bodi.

Nine minutes later, Hungary forged ahead with another goal by Portsmouth striker Marko Futacs who connected off a cross by Beliczky.

The Hungarians sealed the issue with a third goal five minutes from time whwen off a Patrik Tischler served Bence Lazar who hit home past goalkeeper Adrian Parnis.
