Lija Athletic returned to winning ways as they defeated St. George’s in a direct clash against relegation.

An own goal and Ige Abdullahi Adeshina gave Lija the three points with Gary Inguanez scoring the only goal for St. George’s.

In another match, St. Patrick and Dingli Swallows shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Lija join Birzebbuga in eighth place on 23 points, four ahead of Dingli Swallows and seven ahead of St. George’s and St. Patrick.
