Hamrun Spartans win Under-17 Knock-Out

Hamrun Spartans’ Under-17 side won the double after defeating Paola Hibs 2-1 in the final of the National Lotteries Good Causes Fund Under-17 Knock-Out at the Luxol Stadium on Sunday.

In front of a good crowd, the Spartans took the lead thanks to an own goal mid-way through the first half. Early in the second half, Hibernians levelled matters but Hamrun notched a late winner thanks to Ryan Spiteri.

After the game, Minister for Finance, Economy and Investment Tonio Fenech presented the trophy to the winners in the presence of MFA CEO Bjorn Vassallo, MFA Vice-President Ludovigo Micallef, MFA Technical Director Robert Gatt together with officials and council members of the Youth Football Association.
