Joseph Farrugia joins St. Andrews

Former Qormi FC skipper Joseph Farrugia is the second major acquisition for Luxol St. Andrew’s FC this summer.

After much media speculation as to where his final destination would be, Joseph Farrugia and new St. Andrews president Steve Abela put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

“After the signing of Matthew Towns last week, we needed to secure another experienced player in midfield to drive our young team. Joseph Farrugia fitted this position perfectly and we are happy that he chose Luxol when he had been courted by a host of other Premier Division clubs. This means that he also believes in our project,” said president Steve Abela.

A product of Sliema Wanderers, Farrugia had spent time on loan with Pietà Hotspurs, Hamrun Spartans, Marsaxlokk and Msida St. Joseph before joining Qormi.
