Sliema Wanderers' One Goal

In the coming days, a number of coaches and administration officials from Sliema Wanderers Football Nursery will be involved in a Leonardo da Vinci vocational training programme supported by the Leicestershire and Rutland FA, United Kingdom.

The objective behind this project is for coaches and administrators to enhance their knowledge and experience in developing youths into better footballers and better persons. Through this week-long mobility visit coaches and administrators will participate in sessions on Club Administration, Player Development, and Team Building amongst others whereby they will be able to exchange knowledge and ideas with the foreign counterparts.

The group will also have the opportunity to visit a club that supports the concept of mixed-abilities taking into consideration the various cultural and social backgrounds of the players that attend the academy. A visit to St George’s Park, the newly-built state-of-the-art Football Association Development Centre is also on schedule.

The visit is funded by the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme as part of the Lifelong Learning Programme supported by the European Commission. The Malta EU Steering and Action Committee (MEUSAC) assisted Sliema Football Nursery at application stage.
