Lija Athletic and St. Andrews registered their third win in the BOV First Division on Saturday.

In the first game, Lija Athletic defeated Birzebbuga St. Peter’s 3-2 to join Pietà Hotspurs on top.

Erjon Beu scored twice for Lija with Andre Scicluna scoring the other goal. Vinicius Pereira dos Santos scored Birzebbuga’s two goals.

In the second match, St. Andrews bounced back from last week’s defeat to Lija as they beat Vittoriosa Stars 2-0 thanks to goals by Michael Grima and Trayo Grozev.

Pietà and Lija lead the way with 10 points, followed by St. Andrews on 9, Gudja and Marsaxlokk on 7, Zejtun 5, Vittoriosa and Naxxar 4, Mqabba and Gzira 2, Birzebbuga and Dingli 0.
