Hibs, Floriana hope to end disappointing run

Hibernians and Floriana both aim at ending their disappointing run as they cross swords in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

The Paolites lost three out of the last four matches, earning their only point in a draw with neighbours Tarxien Rainbows. They are coming from a 1-0 defeat to Birkirkara which saw them lose further ground with the teams on top. However they are still third together with Sliema Wanderers and Mosta.

Floriana also lost three out of the last four matches, holding Qormi in a 2-2 draw. Last week, they lost 3-2 to Tarxien. They are currently ninth with nine points from nine matches.

The Greens will probably be without Aaron Brown and Sunday Wasiu who no longer seem to be in the club’s plans. Adrian Pulis and Zoran Levnajic return for Hibernians after serving a suspension,

Meanwhile in the first match, Rabat Ajax target their first win as they take on Tarxien Rainbows.

The Magpies held Valletta in a 1-1 draw last week but are still anchored at the bottom of the table with three points.

Tarxien, on the other hand, are currently sixth on fourteen points. They are coming from three positive results after defeating Mosta 2-0, a 2-2 draw with Hibernians and a 3-2 win over Floriana.

The Rainbows welcome back Justin Grioli, Manuel Caruana, Andre Reinaldo de Souza Esposito and Daniel Mariano Bueno but Evaldo Silva dos Santos is suspended. Rabat captain Adam Smeir is among a number of players recovering from injuries for the Magpies.
